WORKING TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Senior Staff

Tom Brinicombe, Director and Founder

Tom works across the full spectrum of services provided by Gunsko. With an engineering background, including an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University, over the past 15 years he has worked in many areas of the renewable energy sector in project management, development and communications roles.

Tom founded Gunsko in 2010 to be a responsible and ethical partner for businesses developing renewable energy projects, energy infrastructure and sustainable developments.

Prior to setting up Gunsko in 2010 Tom was Head of Marketing and Communications at Partnerships for Renewables, where he established the communications function and worked on developing onshore wind projects on public sector land. During his time at Partnerships for Renewables he was part of the management team that took the business through an investment process which saw the business move from being solely owned by the Carbon Trust to becoming a joint venture with the HSBC Environmental Infrastructure Fund.

Tom joined Partnerships for Renewables from AMEC‘s wind energy business where he was Media and Government Relations Manager. During his time at AMEC Tom was responsible for project negotiations and communications activity across a wind energy portfolio that included high profile onshore sites, such as the Lewis and Edinbane wind farms and the Aberdeen offshore wind farm.

Tom’s engineering background, together with substantial development experience, gives him a skill set that has enabled him to successfully lead environmental and technical negotiations and to develop and permit over 1GW of wind power and over 100MW of solar power in the UK. His in-depth understanding of the environmental and technical issues surrounding renewable energy and energy infrastructure puts him in an excellent position to identify and help find solutions to the challenges facing renewable energy projects.
